PANCAKE DAY



Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is a special day celebrated in many countries around the word. It is celebrated in English-Speaking countries like the UK, Irland, Australia and Canada. In some countries, like France and the USA, it is called Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. In other countries, like Spain, Italy or Brazil, Shrove Tuesday is at the end of Carnival.

Pancake Day is always on a Tuesday in February or March. It is the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of lent. Lent is a period of 40 days before the Easter when people often give up or stop eating things that are bad for them like chocolate of fast food.

CARNIVAL


Carnival is a festive season which occurs immediately before lent; the main events are usually during February. Carnival typical involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public and public street party. People often dress up or masquarade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.
Carnival is fastival traditionally held in Roman catholic and to a lesser extent, eastern orthodox socities. Protestant areas usually do not have Carnival celebrations or have modified traditions, such as the Danish carnival or other Shrove Tuesday events.

The brasilian carnival is one of the best-known celebrations today, but many cities and regions worldwide celebrate with large,popular, and days-long events.
